Unitec Library's online tutorials can help introduce you to our services and resources. There are guides to the Library catalogue and website, as well as guides to some of the Library databases. There is also an audiovisual tour of the Main Library. Some of the presentations have also been made in special versions for ESL users. These can be seen on the ESL Tutorial page.

LibrarySearch Understanding the Library Catalogue is essential for getting the best out of the Library. This presentation shows you how to access the catalogue and search it for material.
LibrarySearch - My Account With your personal account in LibrarySearch you can see what books you have out and renew them, see what books you've placed requests for, collect lists of your favourite books and articles, and save your favourite searches..
Requesting Books This presentation shows you how to request books that another person has borrowed, and how to get books sent from one branch of the Library to another.
Electronic Books There are over 20,000 electronic books available through the Library Catalogue. This presentation shows you how to access and use the collections.

Getting the text of an article through Article Linker If you have a reference to an article, a good way to find it is through the Library's Article Linker program. This short tutorial shows you how.
LibrarySearch - Database Searching With LibrarySearch you can look for journal articles using several databases at once.
LibrarySearch - Choosing Databases How to select your own group of databases to search using LibrarySearch.
Ebsco Databases Ebsco is the company that supplies most of the Unitec Library databases. This demonstration features the Academic Search Premier database, but all Ebsco databases have a similar interface.
Art Full Text Art Full Text indexes over 500 journals in the fields of fine arts, film and television, architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. Around 200 of the journals are available in full text.
NewzText Plus NewzText Plus provides the full text of articles from New Zealand newspapers and magazines. It is a useful database for many subjects.
NZ Legislation This demonstration shows you how to access online copies of New Zealand Acts and Regulations.
NZ Standards Online This short demonstration shows you how to access online copies of all the New Zealand Standards.
ScienceDirect The ScienceDirect database gives you access to the world's literature on science, technology and medicine.
ScienceDirect - Advanced Features This presentation shows you how to create a list of favourite journals to search, to save searches and set up search alerts.
