Unitec's Waitākere Library is located in Building 520 together with the Waitākere branch of Auckland Council's Libraries, in line with a joint partnership arrangement between Unitec and Auckland Council.
This shared 'joint' library is unique in New Zealand, with staff and students able to benefit from the diverse nature of the shared resources available.
On Level 2 of B520 (see photo), Unitec books are located at the far end (Trading Place end), with Auckland Libraries' books in the front, close to the Information Helpdesk.
Level 3 of B520 and Te Puna Ora o Waitākere (Learning Commons) in B500 are areas designated just for Unitec
students. There is access to Level 3 via the air bridge from Building 510 (see below).
Wireless connectivity is available throughout most of the Waitākere Campus buildings. Library laptops are allowed to be taken to Unitec Buildings 500, 510 and all three levels of the library building. Library study spaces include a bookable group study room.
As a small branch, the Waitākere library staff get to know you well and provide a friendly, down to earth service.
