Get Library Notices by Text Message

Phone with example of library notice TXT. How student register for Library TXT notices
  1. Go to MyPortal and login with your full network username eg smithj07@myunitec.ac.nz and password
  2. At the top right corner click setting and then UPDATE MY DETAILS
  3. Under Add another Phone Number, select Library Notices SMS from the drop down and the click + ADD
  4. Enter country code and phone number
  5. Complete all the fields as required (eg) Phone Numbers, Email Addresses and Physical Addresses.
  6. Scroll all the way down to click Save changes, the dialog box appears
  7. Click YES to save your changes made
How staff register for Library TXT notices
  1. Go to Staff Portal under Quick links
  2. From left menu select Staff Self Service and login with your usual Unitec network login
  3. Select Personal Information >> Phone Numbers
  4. Click on Add Phone Number
  5. From drop-down under Phone Type, select Library Notices SMS enter mobile number and tick perferred
  6. Click SAVE

Terms and Conditions of use

  • Due to the uncertainty of text messaging, the Library cannot guarantee that you will successfully receive text messages.
  • Texts can be sent only to mobile phones on the major networks in New Zealand.
  • This service is only for students and staff of Unitec.
  • Messages will not be received if the registered mobile phone is outside New Zealand at the time the message is sent.
  • Privacy: Unitec uses an external SMS service for text messages. Signing up with this service authorises the Library to provide your mobile number to the SMS broadcasting service. We have been assured that this information will be kept confidential. However, Unitec cannot be held responsible for the security of messages sent to you.
